Will Rogers Medallion Award for Excellence in Western Literature

The Sons of Philo Gaines has been nominated for a third award, this time for the Will Rogers Medallion Award. The award has been handed out each year since 2003 and is meant to highlight current books “that embody strong content, excellent production values, and enduring interest.” The Sons of Philo Gaines has been nominated this year under the “Western Fiction” category. You can see a full list of the finalists here.

The Sons of Philo Gaines had previously been nominated for two separate Peacemaker Awards – Best First Western Novel, and Best Western Novel. See the announcement here.

The winners of the 2021 Will Rogers Medallion Awards will be announced at the WRMA Ceremony and Banquet on Saturday, October 23, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mike is an award-winning Western author, living in central Wisconsin, who began his writing career while living and exploring the plains and mountains of Colorado and Montana.
