The Sons of Philo Gaines gets Two Nominations

The Sons of Philo Gaines has been nominated for not one, but two Peacemaker Awards for 2020. Western Fictioneers announced on May 15th that my first novel was a finalist for the prestigious award in two different categories – Best First Western Novel, and Best Western novel.

This is the third year in a row that I have been nominated for a Peacemaker Award. On the previous two occasions, the nomination was for Best Western Short Fiction. In 2018, it was for my story, Father Pedro’s Prayer, which appears in the anthology, The Untamed West. I followed that up in 2019 with my story, Aces and Eights, which appeared in the anthology, Contention: and Other Frontier Stories.

This is the 11th annual Peacemaker Awards. The winners will be announced on June 15th. You can read the announcement on the Western Fictioneers blog.
