How It Looks From Here: Poetry from the Plains

Poetry from the Plains

The Nebraska Writers Guild presents How it Looks from Here: Poetry from the Plains, a collection of twenty-seven poets who share their insights, dreams, visions, and everyday lives in the way only poets can do. The poems nestled within these pages reflect the heart and the depth of Nebraskans, and even a few non-Nebraskans.

Besides writing Western short stories and Historical fiction, I also dabble in poetry. Actually, I have been writing poetry longer than I have been writing prose, but it has been difficult getting my poems published. My poetry is not very sophisticated, I guess. I am a rhyme and meter type of poet. I can’t make heads or tails out of most of the poems that are published nowadays. That’s why I’m as happy as a cat in a sunbeam to have three of my poems – The Ballad of Rosie O’Grady, The Coal Miner’s Life, and The Perfect Rose – published in this new anthology by the Nebraska Writers Guild.
